Conferences and Field Meetings

Meetings of the Porcupine Marine Natural History Society take place at venues throughout Great Britain and Ireland.

We hold an Annual Conference in the Spring, featuring the presentation of papers, progress reports, and discussions on a particular theme.

The Conference for 2026 will be held in Haverfordwest from the 20th-22nd March.

The Conference for 2024 was held in Bournemouth from the 22nd-24th March.

The Conference for 2025 was held in the University of St Andrews from the 29th-31st March.

We also hold workshops on topical issues or the identification of particular taxonomic groups.

Every conference will feature field meetings, which provide an opportunity to learn how to identify marine species and appreciate the ecology and geographic variation of marine communities.

We also hold joint meetings with other Societies.

Reports of past meetings, including both field meetings and our annual conference, can be found in the news pages or in the Bulletins.

We also have an interactive map of all the previous field meetings and conferences showing our coverage throughout Great Britain and Ireland.
