Update on PMNHS Fieldwork and restrictions during Covid-19.

Update on PMNHS Fieldwork and surveys according to government restrictions as a result of Covid-19.

Unfortunately, the Lundy Marine Festival due to take place between June and September has been cancelled.  In light of the cancellation of the whole festival, we have reluctantly concluded that we should also cancel our fieldwork 15-22nd August.  We hope that the whole festival can be rescheduled for 2021, and that Porcupines will still be welcome to join in. Further information on how the event will be rescheduled will be made available once services return to normal.

At this stage, we have not decided not to cancel the Dale field trip taking place on September 19-20.   So please keep those dates in your diaries for the time being.  As the situation across the world becomes clearer in the coming months, we will review whether it is feasible to go ahead.

Whilst organised Porcupine surveys are cancelled or postponed for the time being, it may be that some of you are lucky enough to live close to a shore where you can continue surveying or recording activities independently.  Please follow government guidance at all times, especially not travelling specifically to coastal sites to carry out any such activity.

We hope that all of our members are keeping well, stay at home and enjoy reading the latest Bulletin as inspiration for once life returns to normal.
