Dr. Tammy Horton works at the National Oceanography Centre. She is an expert in peracarid taxonomy, ecology and biodiversity and has a particular fascination for deep-sea scavenging amphipods and mouth-inhabiting isopod parasites of fish. She is currently chair the Steering Committee for the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS), and co-ordinates the World Amphipoda Database (WAD) and the World Register of Deep-Sea Species (WoRDSS).
She has worked on a variety of deep-sea biodiversity projects and report results in peer-reviewed publications, as well as web, print, and radio media. She is also the manager of the Discovery Collections at NOCs – a unique collection of deep-sea samples. She is a keen Porcupine Council member and the person you can blame when things go wrong on the website.
