Honorary Website Officer
Having enjoyed studying environmental geography and marine environmental protection at university and working in the marine conservation sector as an educator/ ecologist, Cat undertook a PhD at Aberystwyth University researching the ecological impacts of sustainable harvesting of macroalgal blooms in Milford Haven, Wales. Prior to her PhD Cat has worked on projects with the Cumbria Wildlife Trust and North Devon Coast AONB working with and coordinating volunteer groups to: survey intertidal rocky shores; undertake beach cleans; partake in marine plastics initiatives and run a series of coastal educational engagement sessions. She is now working for a consultancy based in Wales who have a main interest in renewable energy and Cat conducts ecological and ornithological surveys for small to large scale projects. Cat is a diver and enjoys being in and around the sea in any capacity whether it be head stuck into a rockpool or bobbing about on a surfboard.
Cat has been a member of Porcupine since 2016 getting roped into the delights and enthusiasm of members during a conference to Millport. Cat recently took on the role of website officer for Porcupine and would be glad to help you if you have any queries about the website.
